This controls how source files are handled. Adding will create new records in the catalog if a record does not exist. Updating will update a record in the catalog if a matching record already exists.
This controls which parts of the fileΓÇÖs path name are automatically turned into keywords.
This sets the compression setting for the stored thumbnail. A higher quality thumbnail uses less compression, and so takes up more space in the catalog. A lower quality thumbnail uses higher compression, and so takes up less space.
This controls the size of the thumbnail. 112 x 112 is the standard size. 256 x 256 results in a larger display at the highest thumbnail view setting, but takes up more space in the catalog
Check this option to look for any keywords stored in the source file. If they are found, they are added to the Portfolio recordΓÇÖs keyword list.
Check this option to look for a description or caption stored in the source file. If found, the description is placed in the Portfolio recordΓÇÖs description field.

Check this option to extract or generate a new thumbnail from the source file. Uncheck this if you wish to update the file information but not the thumbnail, as the update process will work more quickly.
Check this option to use a thumbnail stored in the source file, if found. If unchecked, Portfolio will only attempt to generate a thumbnail from the data in the source file.
Check this option to attempt to look for a description or caption stored in the source file. Leave this unchecked if the embedded description has not changed since the last update.
Choose this option to replace any existing description in the Portfolio record with the description embedded in the source file. This will overwrite any description you may have entered in Portfolio.
Choose this option to add the text from any embedded description to the end of the description in the Portfolio record. If the descriptions match, no changes will be made.
Check this option to look for keywords stored in the source file. Leave this unchecked if the embedded keywords have not been changed since the last update.
Choose this option to replace any existing keywords in the Portfolio record with the keywords embedded in the source file. This will overwrite any keywords you may have added in Portfolio.
